Welcome to Relationships for Better!
I thought I would kick off this first post by answering a few questions for you. So, let’s jump right on in, shall we?
What is Relationships for Better?
Relationships for Better is my private practice for psychotherapy in Monrovia, California.
What is your area of interest as a Marriage and Family Therapist?
I am passionate about helping couples thrive in their relationship. Relationships for Better particularly speaks to young couples (pre-marital or married for less than 8 years). If you are interested in working towards a relationship ‘for better’, this blogsite is for you!
What makes you stand out as a Therapist?
My hope is that therapy will be a positive and empowering experience for couples. I provide clients with tools to shape their relationship dynamics, as well as empathic support. Together, we will explore the question, “What could help this relationship thrive?”
What influences you as a Therapist?
I have received training in Gottman Couples Therapy, which is built on Dr. John Gottman‘s extensive research on the types of behaviors and communication that result in resilient and highly satisfied marriages.
Education and practice of effective relationship skills are central to my practice with couples.
What are your credentials?
I graduated from Fuller Theological Seminary in 2008 with my Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. My undergraduate work was at Seattle Pacific University (magna cum laude), where I received a Bachelor or Arts in Psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in Educational Ministry.
I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists, and am Licensed by the state of California’s Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Marriage and Family Therapist (#50015).
I would like to book a therapy session with you. How do I move forward?
Great! Click on the ‘Book Your Session‘ tab on the menu bar, fill in your contact information, and I’ll connect with you soon!
